Problem: Lack of education, cultural norm that glorifies violence/gangs/drugs, access to weapons

Solution: Increase education and awareness, create stricter gun control laws, providing additional support and outlets to get kids out of violence (like counseling services)

Cause: Ending Violence

2009 SYC Youth Community Meetings

In fall 2009, the Seattle Youth Commission held our annual Youth Community Meetings in five locations all around the city. Many of the city's youth came to the meetings and joined in the discussion about improving our neighborhoods.

Were The Future (WTF); Stop Child Abuse

Description: We're the future, here to raise awareness and create advocates for various issues in our communities!

The purpose of our group is to help prevent child abuse and raise awarenss so that advocates for the youth will spread the word. Anyone can help, and the first step is now, right here. Join our group and help us let the world know what child abuse does to our youth, our future. If we let it go on and dont attempt to put an end to it now we are letting ourselves down as well as eachother.
