Well said. I think part of the reason some people abstain from participating in politics or even abstain from being informed is because it is so difficult to get honest information. Yes, there is dishonesty with politicians on both sides and I'm sure there always will be, but dishonesty and misrepresentation in the media is part of the problem also. It is difficut for people to make informed decisions and come to informed conclusions when it is so difficult to obtain accurate, unbiased information. The media needs to be held more accountable for telling us the information we need to know. From talking to friends and coworkers, it is clear that many people do not watch the news because they are so fed up the media and the inability to get the unbiased, relevant truth.
Thanks for sharing this great article. There is one thing we know for certain - housing deregulation has helped us get to where we are at now. Who's to blame? I bet that there are individuals from both sides of the spectrum contributing to this mess we're in.
Interesting to read about Freddie Raines from Fannie Mae helping Obama problem solve the housing mess when he's a major contributor to the problem. Not sure reaching out to the culprits is going to assuage the situation.
My biggest beef in all of this is Freddie Raines made $90 million. $90 million is a lot of money for someone to oversee a housing program. Does anyone really need that much money. Come on!
Dishonesty is the reason so many of us are disgusted with the political process. Bottom line, both candidates stretch the truth and misguide the public. It would be great to get back to honesty.
