First Day In Morocco
After a brutally long flight, we're finally here!!! Getting here sucked though. We were traveling for over 36 hours and once we finally got to the airport in Casablanca, we were told that the airlines had lost half of our groups baggage. I was glad I had mine, but felt really bad for everyone who didn't, especially since a change of clothing was really the only thing I wanted when we got off the plane. Luckily, the bags have been found, and will be here by the end of the day.
Meeting our host families for the first time was really nerve-racking, but kinda cool to. My host mom is really nice, as is my host sister. Neither my host brother nor my host dad have talked very much, but they both seem pretty cool, and they're both sick at the moment so maybe they'll be easier to talk to once they're feeling better. We're also staying in a house with to other exchange women from a different program. One woman is older than us, and visiting Morocco from Australia, artially as a vacation from her kids, the other is only a couple years older and is from England. They're both really friendly and seem nice, but the English student can communicate with our host family in French, and it's going to be difficult not to rely on her to translate for us, when we really should be trying out our limited Arabic.
Overall, I'mc just really glad to be here. The weather is perfect, everythnig is beautiful and everyone has been so nice.
