I love Seattle. Growing up, I spent my school year right outside of Seattle, and my summer on the East Coast where all my extended family lived. Having that bi-coastal upbringing made it hard for me to decide where I would end up choosing to go to college. I ultimately chose Seattle because I realized how much I would strangely miss the odd people and the horrible weather. I feel like to be from here makes you proud of the rain and the uptight people - that you have learned to deal with those things and still managed to be a "down-to-earth" "bleeding heart". I love the rain and scoff at umbrellas, I where sandals all year long, I drink lots of coffee multiple times a day, I ignore people on the bus like everyone else, I read blogs, newspapers listen to NPR...living elsewhere in the country has made me appreciate all the idiosyncrasies that make Seattle my home.
