Coast to Coast- Connecting New York City with Seattle

October 30, 2008 - 1:45pm by savannah.peterson

Hey Everyone,

Awesome news.  A dear teacher friend of mine, who works with youth like you in New York City has decided to get his students on PSO!

Let's welcome them with open arms and exciting questions to address in their first few weeks.

I was thinking of some along the lines of:

-How is the election being viewed in New York City?

-Is it as democratic there as we're taught to think?

-Perhaps discussing some of the problems that we already have (drinking age, immigration etc.) with them.

What do you guys think?  I'd really like to have a nice list of questions when they sign up on monday, so please get back to me with your thoughts.  All questions are good questions, even just general thoughts (is the pizza really better in NYC? etc.)

Post them here and then join the NYC Connection group :)

Also, don't forget the sound off for action forum is tonight right here at UW!  We're hosting a wide variety of local intellect (youth and AARP members alike) from 6:30-8pm in Kane Hall (the big ugly building of Red Square).  Hope to see many of you there, your feedback would be great to include, not to mention, it'd be fun to meet some of you!

How are the universities in NY? And is living there really as difficult and expensive as everyone says?

I wish I could go tonight :( Let me know how it turns out??

I hear from friends that housing is the hardest part, tho some of the universities have housing.

Sorry you can't be there tonight! The SeattleChannel.org is taping it though, so we can make it available on PSO later.
