2010 GM Volt. 250 MPG

Hopefully this gets approved by the EPA. Although the price is a bit high ($40,000) you will be saving alot of money on gas and would be really usefull for road trips. And it only costs $0.40 per day to charge the cars battery.

Seattle --> LA = 1135 miles
Gm car = 250 mpg highway.
1135 Miles / 250 mpg = 4.54 Gal. gas
4.54 Gal gas * $3.00 = $13.62 Worth of gas from Seattle --> LA
