i think that mirijuana should be legalized...i dont think it should be smoked, but i think that it should be legalized. the reason it's illegal? they dont want people to smoke it. however, if you think back to the whole prohibition thing where they banned alcohol, you'll see that there was a lot more drinking then then there was before they banned it.
so yea, legalize pot. and by the way Kat, there is a HUGE withdrawl after qutting pot, or not having it for a while, including depression and anxiety.

actually, if you look at the research that scientists and doctors have done, there is not an actual link between marijuana and depression. And anxiety is there on pot as well, so not much of a difference for the smokers... There is no physical withdrawl, but as I previously stated and as Vehicle elaborated, social and personal preferances for the drug will trigger cravings, withdrawl, etc. It's the person, not marijuana itself.

Marijuana should have the same regulations as cigarettes. They should be able to sell it in tobacco outlets with the proper percentage of tax, regular where marijuana smoking is allowed, and set the age standards for purchase.

As a drug, marijuana is non-chemically addictive. No study has proved the chemical addiction to THC (the main chemical found in marijuana) to be prominent among its users. Marijuana is however a socially addictive and mentally addictive drug. It is not the compound in the drug that triggers this addiction, it's the situation in which the substance is used. If you are a user specifically for stressful situations than your craving for marijuana is specified due to situational reasons. It is the same concept for addictions of non-drug derivatives. Mentally, your mind excretes a sense of pleasure derived from interval outcomes. Same is true for those that are addicted to gambling--if the outcome is positive than the enabler will in turn become a positive reinforcement.

The anti-legality argument for marijuana is unreasonable. Marijuana is a natural chemical found in the earth--it is not processed to induce physical harm on the body like most drugs are. Like any drug--marijuana is harmful to your body, then again so is fast food and certain cosmetics. If you do not want to harm your body then don't consume; otherwise left it up to individual decision.

Marijuana has the least risks in comparison to other drugs (save tobacco). You cannot overdose, your mind is not severely impaired, and it rarely (if never) triggers aggression or provokes extremely mood swings.  Alcohol is by far a greater liability for heath and concern.   Not only is it chemically addictive (alcoholism), it is also able to severely impare your vision, motor skills, mental ability, and emotional stability.  Not only that but alcohol has been known to kill you.  Alcohol posioning is fairly common among younger irreponsible drinkers and often will put you in a coma, damage your brain and nervous system, and cause your demise.  Marijuana does none of these things.

Yes, I think marijuana should be legalized. However, it should have many restrictions and I think the best way for it be legalized would be if using it was only allowed in certain places, such as cafes.

I agree with Kat in that it can be "emotionally addictive" but it is not physically addictive.

I agree that alcohol is much more harmful than marijuana.

Yes it should be legalized.

It can be "emotionally addictive" in the sense that if a user enjoys it enough, they will want more. But not at all in the sense that alcohol and nicotine are addictive. The body doesn't suffer withdrawls.

No, alcohol is much more harmful than marijuana. There are a lot of scientific and medical researches proving this.

Hey Iklumb, Just so you know, PSO has a poll feature you could use that might make it easier to collect the data.
