youth employment
Its appaling the number of unemployed youth in king county. The county isnt doing anything to address this issue, and the number of youths without jobs is increasing. The city of Seattle has set up a few programs that deal with these but most of them sadly are short term and only accept a limited amount of applicants. One of the problems is these programs arent promoted outwardly, interestingly they are hidden in the city's site ( a normal youth would have trouble navigating and accessing these information) and no ad campaigns are out there , even a mere poster on a bus. What do you think about this , should the city do more about this or have they done enough.

Yeah i agree with your view and facts about this situation. I've personally found it difficult to find a job by myself. All the jobs that have came my way, i was hooked up in one way or the other. I feel like nobody will hire me because they think I'm not going to work hard. I wish they could take me serious. And there should be more opportunities for youth. Society is really messed up these days, and adults look past our generation because of the negativity they've seen in certain areas. Everyone's not the same, and there are people like me who want to get far in life. Give us a chance.
Yeah, there should be more done about this. Most of the programs for youth employment are hidden on websites and they're mostly for youth that are homeless or having trouble in their school, communities or families. I know a couple of my friends have babysitting or dogwalking jobs, but besides that there doesn't seem to be any jobs youth can access.
yea i do find it harder to find a job here than i did in maryland where i came from before i moved to seattle
they should do something about it
