$150,000 on Palin's wardrobe?!?!
The republican national convention has spent 150,000 dollars for Sarah Palin's wardrobe, and to a MUCH smaller degree, Senator McCain's wardrobe.
"The expenses include $75,062 spent at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis and $41,850 in St. Louis in early September. The committee also reported spending $4,100 for makeup and hair consulting. The expenses were first reported by Politico.com.
The RNC also spent $4,902 at Atelier, a stylish men's clothing store in New York. Other purchases included a $92 romper and matching hat with ears for Palin's baby, Trig, at Pacifier, a baby store in Minneapolis."(MSNBC)
But she's folksy right? Ordinary small town woman with small town values. Who are they fooling?

i kind of agree to your post. why would she have to spend $150,000 just for her wardrobe?? she's not even the VP yet that time. They wasted a lot of bucks dressing up a candidate and her family. They could have helped a lot in the community if they just donated the $150,000 to poor and needy people or places thet need more food and shelter.
I could see it from your view, Anna. She's not the only woman who would spend that much... Though, still, it doesn't make it right.
Yes Palin did spend more than 180,000 But she was just trying to look nice yeah yeah theres way more ways how to look nice but you cant judge her.
A rare position I must take is in defense of Mrs. Palin. She did not spend the money on the clothes the RNC and McCain Campaign did. Although she did not refuse the clothing.
that's not true, she spent the campaign's money, but she was reportedly not authorized to do so. She sent an aid on several different occasions to get clothes for her. Some of the republican donors are pissed off about that.
Really, I did not realize that, I read an article that stated differently, but it might not be as recent as the information you have. I'll accept your report for now.
as it turns out, it was much higher then 150,000 dollars
My friend, who a junior in college, was one among the many who were Sarah Palin for Halloween. She had everything, the glasses, hair, shoes, and voice, but the best part was the $150,000 pricetag attached to her suit!!!
The fact that campaign money is being used for clothes is unethical. I would even go as far as to consider it embezzlement.
Palin does not get to keep the clothes, they are campaign property.
This is just another manufactured "scandal". But pay no attention to Obama's connections to communists, terrorists, and radical muslims.
Or McCain’s ties to racists & Anti-Semites (see youtube link below) or the fact that Palin’s husband (Todd) was part of a group demanding Alaska secede from America….
This guilt by association game is pointless and a waste of every ones time.

It isn't guilt by association, its the fact that Obama has constinually played dumb about every association. He did not know Ayers was a terrorist, he did not hear Wright say racist and anti-american things, he did not know Rezko was under investigation, he did not know his aunt was an illegal alien living off the government. When a person consistently befriends and works with extremely questionable people (including PLO spokesman), what does it say about that person? If McCain had these identical associations with nazis and skinheads, wouldn't it be vitally important? Of course it would, and McCain would rightfully lose.
Obama is either a clueless fool or a complete liar. Either way, he does not belong in the White House.
McCain/Palin do have these types of associations and repulcans choose to not address them.....
The fact is, American's want to hear what your going to do and how your going to do it. That is why McCain/Palin are losing. These guilt by association games are pointless.
these connections that you are formulating against obama are all worthless.
Obama has a long and deep relationship with a plethora of communists, terrorists, and convicted felons. If it was JUST Ayers, or JUST the PLO spokesman, or JUST Railia Odinga (communist in kenya that incited riots which resulted in thousands of deaths after he was defeated in an election. Obama actually campaigned for this man) or JUST Rezko then you would have a point. He has a lifetime of links to anti-americans, its no coincidence.
she spent $250,000 on hair sylist, makeup stylist, clothes. (sorry just wanted 2tell you : )
I think it is ridiculous that the media is making such frivilous stories big news. Most people are not going to be swayed either way based on this fact. To me, it seems like stories like this only serve validate which ever side you are already on. I'm sure many other politicians spend ridiculous amounts of money on wadrobe and makeup, but we just do not hear about it. What she spends on clothes and makeup is not going to affect the skills that will make her either an effective or an ineffective leader. Remember...John Edwards also gets $400 haircuts. However, my point is that these of kinding of stories are totally ridiculous and irrelevant. We should be hearing about serious matters and about the issues instead of about makeup and clothes.
Well... Okay, here's my view on this - It's a bit much to spend on clothing, but, It's not THAT big of a deal... I think Palin went totally overboard trying to look nice, however, no one really cares when she's someone to laugh at now, but still, It's not something that is worth freaking out over or anything... Even so, I do appreciate your opinion, and It's great you express yourself.
just because she's small town doesn't mean the GOP is. The Republican party is a well oiled machine, who knows the system well. They have to have their talking head looking her best, no matter her policies.
There are parties to celebrate everything, sports victories, election victories, holidays etc. We all (politicians included) spend money to have fun. Don't we? I'm alright with that.
Regardless, we are talking about $150,000 v. $2,000,000 for a victory party for a victory that might not happen. I can only imagine the coverage if McCain were doing it.
Probably. But it's not like there hasn't been plenty of stuff out there about the terrorist associates of Obama and things like that
What about the $2 million that Obama's victory party is going to cost Chicago tax payers? Why is that not a story?
The Obama campaign has promised to re-emberse the city for the costs.
