Paid Work Training Program - now accepting applications!

The GreenLight Project is a work training program designed to give young adults training and certifications in construction, trades, and green industry.

 

  • 4 week trainingat South Seattle Community College – Georgetown Campus including introduction to construction, carpentry, welding, electrical work and other trades.
  • Certificationsin First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, Falls/Scaffolding, and Flagging.
  • 4 week internshipwith a manufacturing/trade business in the Seattle Area

 

 

Eligibility Requirements:

 

1. Age 18 -24 with no or low-income

2. A resident of a specific geographical area in South Seattle and Southwest Seattle, and:

  • Unemployed
  • High-school dropout
  • Re-entry/ex-offender
  • Veteran, or
  • In need of updated training related to energy efficiency and renewable energy industries

 

 

 

Program Schedule

Start Date:  October 11th, 2010

1 weekorientation at YouthSource, Renton, WA

4 week training at South Seattle Community College – Georgetown

4 weekinternship with a business in manufacturing, industrial or trade

 The YMCA of Greater Seattle and One Economy Digital Connector program will provide a unique opportunity to serve your community, learn technology skills and practice leadership skills.

In exchange for your participation, successful graduates of the program will receive a $500 stipend, laptop computer and other incentives for participating.
